David Israel Rivera

My story

My name is David Israel Rivera. I live in Comayagua, Honduras, and I am a volunteer missionary with Catracho Missions. I accepted Christ Jesus as my Lord and Savior five years ago. In Catracho Missions I have learned to have intimacy with God and to show others, through my testimony, where Christ pulled me out from. Christ is in every relationship and in everything I do; day by day my dependence on him grows by faith.

Three years ago I was named pastor of the city. Because my goal is to preach the gospel to every man, woman and child, and to raise leaders who teach others, I resigned from my job as administrator of a sports center in the city. I felt I was not growing spiritually and my purpose as a child and servant of God was not being fulfilled.

Today I serve in the mission full time, as a volunteer. I am in charge of administering the projects and ministries in the mountains: planting churches and training leaders. Every morning when I wake up, my motivation is to please Christ in everything, and to see every person reconciled with God by accepting Christ Jesus as our only Lord and Savior.
